70's Hippies
The hippie movement was set in motion as rebellion against communal and political conventionality. They conveyed their non-conformity in the way they dressed and the way they styled their hair. Flower power was a practice of reaching objectives through protests and refusing to obey certain laws. "Passive resistance" Hippies protested against the Vietnam war. They believed in nonviolence towards people, nature, and animals. "Make love, not war" was frequently connected with the American counterculture. It passed on to the practice of "Free Love"
